About Parallaxin
Documentation of the distance between what power says and what power does.
The Lens Metaphor
Parallax is the displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight. In power dynamics, there is often a massive parallax between stated positions (diplomatic cables, press releases, public speeches) and documented actions (military movements, budget allocations, verified footage).
Parallaxin is the lens through which we document that gap.
What makes us different?
- Evidence-based, not consensus-based: We don't wait for "official confirmation" if the verifiable evidence already exists. We don't seek a middle ground between a fact and a lie.
- The Gap is the Product: Our primary focus is the actor-behavior gap. We document what changed between the claim and the action.
- Ungovernable by Design: Parallaxin is open source and hosted as a static site. It has no centralized database to seize, no accounts to ban, and no single point of failure.
How it's built
Parallaxin is built on openness and auditability.
- Open Source: Everything from the site engine to the data schema is available on GitHub under the MIT license.
- Static Site: The site is pre-rendered for speed, security, and permanence.
- Git as Audit Trail: Every change to every record is tracked in public Git commits, creating a permanent, immutable record of our own documentation process.
The Constitution
All editorial decisions and operational principles are governed by the Parallaxin Constitution. It defines our methodology for sourcing, inference, and error correction.
